Yep, I agree that it's probably the thermostat, or at least that was the initial problem. I had an Accord for a while where the thermostat would just stick closed every few months. 200,000+ miles though. Since your engine siezed it sounds like more than just the headgasket blew. When an engine gets really hot the block and pistons can swell from the heat until the friction gets so high (the heat can break down the oil too) that the motor locks. Just my theory though, I'm not an expert by any means.

if this isn't a joke, start off by slapping yourself silly.
I kid, but seriously if this isn't a joke... Sell off the car. The s2000 while reliable requires you to pay close attention to things like fluids. They'll run great as long as you pay attention and take care of it. You run out of coolant or oil though your screwed.
Personally, if my engine temp goes over 3 bars and its not 100 degrees outside awith the air conditioner blasting I'll pull over and check all the fluids, and make sure the radiator fan is working. Over 4 bars (never happened to me on my old s2000) would probably have me calling my mechanic.
