puraltor pure one is a pretty nice filter if you plan to change the filter every 3-5k. You can get real crazy if you want with oil filters, but for most people this and many other filters will do just fine.

I hear the same thing on ever site that sells the filters, they all say "better than OEM honda, spoon uses them in racing engines, blah blah blah." Go over to japan and find out how much you can buy them there then compare that to what a HONDA oem filter over in japan costs. The HAMP filters were made to be a cheaper replacement to the original honda filters in japan. it's all marketing hype.

I had to revive this thread to find out if anyone knew anything in regards to the comments made by VaporS2K.

Since the new OEM filter and the HAMP filter are both made by Toyo Roki wouldn't they be the same?

Does anyone know if the comments above are valid in that the HAMP is inferior to the OEM? Is one bigger than the other?

Spoon Sports' racing engine:

Look at what they're using.

From Honda Japan:

http://www.honda.co.jp/parts/hamp/oil/index.html

http://www.honda.co.jp/parts/hamp/oil/next01.html

The 2nd link shows you that they are not "inferior" or "cheap"

Thanks for the responses you two. I had a feeling his info might be a bit flawed.

I would just use the Honda OEM filter that is made in Japan.
