I'm going for the Defi Gauges as they are the only Jap gauges that read in US measurements and are 52mm-I think the 60mm are too big for the gauge pod. They have stand alone gauges D series, for about $169 a piece for EGT and oil temp, the two I am installing. I think the boost gauge is a waste of $$ on this application, as the boost is so low at normal driving conditions (with my S/C) IMO. If you want boost it is only $119. The defi link gauges are real neat, I just don't have room for the control unit with all my other junk!

A boost gauge is always good even if you run 1psi. It helps with more than telling boost. If you have a leak it would reflect that. Also not sure on SC but boost spike or over boost is critical to address, in regards to the long term reliability of your motor. Also knowing when full boost hits helps shift points and your racing style. So for $119 it's a good investment.

I like the Defi gauges and the Greddy gauges both work great for turbo applications. I like the look of the new blacked out defi gauges they are sweet IMO.

I guess I am more interested in exhaust gas temp and oil press or oil temp to protect my expensive motor than I am worried if my S/C is leaking- I couldn't even guess where the heck it could leak from???? And I would guess the result of a "leak" would be loss of extra power. With only 2 gauges, I think I will stick to EGT and either oil press or temp. Too bad with the little area 3 gauges are too much! I think the boost gauge might be more useful with a turbo set-up, with the Vortech, the power delivery is so linear, max boost is up at the top of the rpm's. I also made 30 HP on the dyno between 8000-8900 Rpms!!!

The blacked out Defis do look great-so do the greddy!!!!

You'd be surprised, leaks happen relatively often, and (in the case of a turbo, anyway) aren't always difficult to diagnose. Just look for the hose or pipe that came off someplace.

Yep.

Since everyone's adding their two bits, here's what I've gone with and liked.

The picture on the homepage (at least, at the time of writing) is the daytime picture of the APEXi boost and EGT gauges (on my car actually, too ), I don't have a nighttime picture that came out well, but the color is a nice soothing (not too bright) bluish indiglo. It matches the blue of my head unit in that picture fairly well.

You'd have to ask Dwight at Stage 6 ( www.stage6motorsports.com ), he did all the work. Dwight has a knack for clean installs of stuff like that.

I've been using Autometer for years on my Supercharged Integra and I can vouch for this. They are crap! They Always display inaccurate readings. I had the 6psi JRSC kit on my gsr and sometimes it would read 8 psi and sometimes it would read 9 psi. WTF? I didn

Yes crapometers suck. There EGT gauges utilize crappy probes and give about a 3 sec delay on temp readings.......thats big time lag that can blow a motor.

I personally like the greddy warning meter gauges since they match the dash lighting in amber/red and have instant replay and warning modes if you over step a parameter by prominently displaying an annoying red light.

The boost gauge and Egt should be the minimum with a turbo app however I would really urge any turbo user especially on stock internals to utilize a wideband 02 sensor. The greddy a/f is good but is not so hot in monitoring rich conditions for 11.5 and lower.

Greddy 60mm warning gauges. Light up same color as our interior. Full 3 years Greddy warranty from Greddy themself. I have been using Greddy gauges for years on all my cars. Never had any problems. They are one of the cheapest warning/memory gauges. The SOSs pod will fit the 60mm.
