I've replaced my stock clutch/PP with the Star Stage II, which has a re-worked OEM PP (claimed to be 25% stronger) and a Kevlar disk. What's more, the PP is their lightweight version and saved me about four pounds. The combo is SUBSTANTIALLY "grabbier" than the stock and has never slipped insofar as I can tell. I use my car as a daily driver in traffic as well as Interstate travel and I have had no problems w/ it. Pedal pressure seems not strikingly different from stock. Clearly just as easy to live w/ day to day as the stock setup.
What motivated me to buy the Star combo was the fact that even from fairly early in my ownership of the S, I had several cases where the clutch just slipped and burned w/o moving the car an inch. I might note that I do not street race and NEVER drop the clutch ar high rpms.
[EDIT] You know, I kinda doubt that many of us are qualified to even have an opinion as to what is the "best" clutch/PP combo. I, for example, have only had experience w/ the OEM and the Star Stage II. So, really I have no basis to compare or judge any other setup. Wonder if there is an answer to this?
