What is the air Pump and why would it melt?
Have been throwing Throttle sensor. Thought voltage adjustment would fix that but dealer says air pump and $1,100. Might have it fixed by Tuesday. Where is it and what does it do? Thought engine was the air pump.

Have 100k or 10year extended warranty that covers motor and drive train. Will know more on Monday. Got code for the secondary air pump. Need TSB # for the relay that powers the air pump since I've heard from others that is causes pump to fry. Miles at 47k on 2001 that I bought Sept. 2002.

How can an emissions device not be covered under the emissions warranty? If it's not working properly, emissions output changes. Yup, I'd call the Honda zone office (should be listed in the owner's manual) and change dealership...
