Default Weird noise comming from gear box

Whenever I put the car in first gear, or 3rd gear, I hear an odd noise that comes from the gearbox. It sounds like a sandpaper type of noise, it's not a grind, but it sounds rough and scruffy. The noise doesn't come from the transmission that's for sure. Feels like there's no type of lubrication or something when I put it in those two gears.

I recently changed the transmission oil, and put in two bottles of transmission fluid which I got from Honda. The guy that works in parts deals with alot of s2ki people as well as alot of others on a local import forum so I'm sure I was given the right stuff.

I'm thinking of taking off the shift boot but I don't know how, because it really just feels like there's something in there causing that noise but I have no idea what it would be. The car is an 01 with 37k miles.

Is that while moving or not?
Engine running or not?
I recently changed the transmission oil
Did the noise start after doing that?
How much oil did you put in?

What does it say on the bottle?

Read the first post to find out how to remove the shifter.
If it makes a noise into 1st and 3rd it should also make the noise into 5th?

Let us know what you find
