Hey guys i just recently purchased an 01 s2000 and while driving if i let go of the gas at about 25+ mph the car starts to make like a vibration or shuddering sound and it sounds like its coming from the tranny, i could also feel it in the clutch pedal. when i press the gas, even gently it goes away....

also while all this was happening i smelt something burning and got out to see what it was and both my rear brakes smelt burnt, dont know why but hope that doesnt have anything to do with it.

could just be me but i have a really hard time getting going from 1st without either riding the clutch at 2k or more or it pretty much just about dies on me and starts shaking, is something wrong with my clutch?

ooo ok thanks, i thought i was suppose to pull it up as high as it can go and THEN drive around....

You think the clutch may be going bad?

well the clutch grabs fine and I came to realize it does it only above 2500 rpm, the shifter doesn't move but the clutch pedal vibrates like crazy, also it doesn't do it in neutral

The S2000 doesn't have much torque at lower-end RPM so to get it going, you need to rev it higher than other cars.

Hey GB I got the same problem. Its between 2500 an 3200 sounds like buzzing or chattering of some sort. I just got a brand new ACT street clutch an Fidanza flywheel put in an bout 5 days later in the break in period it started make the noise. I took it back to my guy an we changed the fluid again but added lucas pure synthetic. But its still doing it. My tranny only has like 15k on it. I already replaced it once and don't want to do it again $5K is alot of money. Anyway if you find anything out hit me up an I will do like wise

yeah it shudders in anything above 2500 but only when I'm not on the gas, its so weird I'm clueless, if its the clutch why would it only doing during deceleration? mounts maybe?

My next moves are replace the throw-out bearing and then pull out the gearsand check them. Look to see if its a bearing or something
