weird issue: stepping on brakes, activates headlights-on feature
and to go into deeper detailes, recently, ive been running into a few electrical gremlins. mostly with the stereo system.
but now its gone a bit deeper. its been 2 days now since ive noticed the issue. everytime i step on the brakes, the cluster dims as if i were turning on the headlights. now when i turn off the car, its starting to make the warning sound of when you leave the headlights on, when i step on the brakes.
at first i thought it was my headunit, but after pulling out everything, the issue still occurs. i just finished checking the battery itself and i think its about to go out. also, the + terminal and post is full of acid corrosion (which will be cleaned in the AM). can these two issues be causing the problems?

This should be in the electronics section. You're back feeding the parking lights when u press the brakes. Start by taking off your brake/parking light bulbs in the rear. And see if it still does it. If it does then u are giving the parking light circut 12v through your brakes some how. If it doesn't then ur rear bulbs may need to be changed and or propelry installed.

thanks for the tips...also, for the reminder...i totally forgot that the passenger rear taillight was removed and installed during a dent day. im assuming when he re-installed the tail light harness, the plugs might have been switched.

The battery being that way won't do that. You have a short to power somewhere. If your connector switch doesn't work, try looking up the wiring diagram and look at the easily visible parts of it.
