Weird gremlins causing hvac problems
So my hvac has been giving me problems. The heat and ac will work intermittently. I tried buying a new transistor assembly and after $120 dollars later same problems. I bought a new heater relay and that didn't work. I decided to suck it up and bring it to the dealer. 3 days later they tell me the problem is coming from the relay. I told them I bought and replaced it 3 days earlier but they insisted that was the source of the problem. They ordered and a new one and again it didn't work.
They said that they were going to have to go through the entire car for possible shorts. When I asked them why the new relay was a different color they mentioned Honda changed the relays and they are a different part number than when in 2004 when I got my car. They said they were going to have to hold the car a few more days and do more research. It finally hit me to call my buddy who has an 2001 to see if it would work. As I put his in it clicked and the fan worked and then stopped. I started wiggling the relay and when I pushed forward it worked. So I ghetto rigged a business card to push the relay forward so the hvac would work. Weird problem with a ghetto solution.
