Sounds like the infamous TCT...I'll see if I can find a link somewhere here where they have a vid of the usual sound.

Hey billman,
I have that same noise. I pulled the engine and the head and cylinder 4 is very lightly scored. It barely catches my fingernail. Is it something that can usually be honed out? Then I can put in new rings and a piston or should I start searching for a used engine? I can takes pics of it. I am going to be taking it to it a machine shop but I would like a your professional opinion if its even worth wasting a machine shops time.

I have no turbo or SC, stock engine. If it's true I'am cry ;{
If I push the clutch that noise is gone - I had brand new clutch kit already installed right now and it's not help.

if you clutch in and it stops its a bearing in your trans... did you replace the bearings with that new clutch?
but idk how you would get such a bad sound off of the motor... whats your idle set at? i know mine was idling around 600 rpms when i got it and it sounded like sh*t with the ticking etc... got a valve adjust and bumped my idle up and it sounds fine... also a new tct... sometimes on startup i get a little ticking still tho

Yes post a pic. sounds like your scoring is a non issue.
