Weird 1st gear downshifting issue
Hi All,
When slowing to a stop, if i try to downshift to 1st at 4-5mph, while braking hard, a rapid clicking noise can be heard and felt through the shifter. Not a grind, but an unusual click. If i try and move the shifter into 1st @6-10mph, it goes in smoothly with no fuss.
What's going on here? Is this just normal and should i ignore it? At first i assumed it was a worn synchro, but if it was that then it would be worse at higher speeds.

You getting metal particles in the transmission fluid?
BTW... you may get better response in Under The Hood section.
