well some part on your car is going on and off line and i would still probably still take it to the dealership to get a diagnoses and either fix the problem yourself or have them do it.

Sounds like the car is running pig rich if you're getting terrible MPG and it's popping/backfiring and burning off excess fuel. I run copper NGK OEM equivalent plugs and have no trouble at all, just have to repalce them a little more frequently.

Hope you figure it out soon.

Zo, what a horrible situation to be in. Sorry to hear about all this. Better get her taken care of. I would definitely drop it at the dealership just to be safe, and this coming from someone who NEVER takes my car to the shop. The blinking CEL would make me drop her off at the dealer. Maybe reach out to Marcucci??!

If you are in Tampa, don't take it to any shop other than S&R.

I know some run the non-platinum NGKs, but trying to troubleshoot when you have non-standard plugs is useless especially when it is known that the s2k can be very picky when it comes to plugs. Put some OEMs back in.

Then go to the DIY FAQ and find the Misfire Troubleshooting guide. You have gone through many of the steps but not all.

However, I would *guess* that injectors may be the problem. BUT go through the troubleshooting steps to be sure.

injectors. poping idle gave it away. If you want to be cheap just to make sure, buy some used one here. That's what I did, problem never came back.

Thanks negcamber, she is in safe hands now (at S&R).
Talked to Jeff and he has all the parts in stock to replace and test from EGR to Air pump to a whole new engine

I hope this misfiring did not do any major damage and the issue gets resolved before its too late

Kinda OT, but there are a few other shops in the area that do just as good if not better work than S&R
