weak engine

heh, the "luck" you had learning to drive your integra, unfortunately is not really anything we can use in terms of data. there are plenty of S2000 owners who overrev and never have an issue as well.
Of course, you always hear about the ones that do.

I wouldn't say the F20/22 engines are weaker than the B series. The F engines are just better built to tighter margins. Think of engines in F1 cars. They probably blow up more often statistically. Does that make them weaker engines?

I dont want to burst some bubbles here, but when I first started driving a 5 speed, I bought an LS integra with 135k on the clock.
When I didn't know how to drive, I shifted into 2nd from the top of 3rd, probably 3 times. Fuel cut on the LS is 7200, the long gear ratios of the LS tranny did not help the 3rd to 2nd mis-shift at all, hitting somewhere in the 9000+ range. every time I did this, I never bent a single valve, touched a piston with the valve. I had to adjust the valves all 3 times, and it was the same rocker that came loose every time. That motor lasted me boosted til 160k before it cracked the ringlands on the #3 piston under 10-11 psi of boosting for the past 2 years.
Its currently under reconstruction. I wouldn't say any other motor would blow up, I'm just saying mine was a damned soldier when it came to my ignorant ass back in the day.
