That's basically what happended to a buddy, hydrolocked his S. Bought it new in 06 and put's a CAI on it. I think AEM. He parks at work and it rains bad and floods that part of the parking lot. The lot had drained by the time he got off work. But, the filter was full of water. It threw a rod through the block. Insurance paid to fix it, minus his deductable.

did you hyrdolock with the drain hole plugged and an umbrella?
Keep your air filter high and dry!
Or you can try a product like the AEM bypass valve.

I was going to lunch with my boss man and it was raining really hard. Hadn't been raining to long though but hard enough for a flash flood in this area. I had already decided that I was going to turn around at the end of the street and go back but when I got to the end of the street, my boss says, hey... look over there, it looks clear. And like a idiot I listen and turn down the street. He goes back to playing on his phone and I can barley see and the next thing I know I'm in a damn river pretty much. I said we gotta get out right now and push my car out. So we were in our nice dress pants and work shirts pushing my car out of some muddy ass water.
I still owe quite a bit on this car and I just don't know if I'm up to dumping a lot of money back into it to get it running. If it's going to cost over 3k then forget it. I would be better off parting it out and paying off as much as I can and just paying out the difference. I got ripped when I bought it but the next one I get will be through my own financing and research (dealership screwed me on the price big time)
Anyway, I will probably try and get it to a shop just to get an idea of the damage first. If it was just something like a mis-fire that would not be too ridiculously expensive then I might go that route but other than that... oh well. Shit on me.
