Water in the tank, help
Hey guys,
My friend has a 2003 NSX and just called me on the road asking for help. I'm sure he'll be ok, but I just want to run this by you gearheads. Anyway I will make a long story short. He was filling up the gas and the overflow shutoff...didn't so gas went all down the quarter panel paint. He quickly got a bottle of water and started pouring it over that whole area. He says he had the gas cap tight, but he could hear and see it suck water into the fill nozel as he was pouring it down that whole area. He's positive the vaccum sucked water into the tank. I told him to get some heet, or some other gas treatment and it would probably eventually break down the water and cycle it through. I also told him he shouldn't let the tank get below 1/2 tank. What do you guys think? I need to get a message back to him soon. His NSX only has 1800 miles on it and he's kinda freakin out.
Thanks

couldnt he drain the tank? i saw it somewhere before that somebody put leaded fuel where it should have been unleaded and they drained the tank and filled it again with what fuel it should have been.

thing is, he's on the road heading to chicago for the weekend. Won't be back in town until Sunday.
Thanks Speeding, I'll look into that redline stuff. I know this is top shelf stuff, but are there regular vendors that sell this stuff?

Here is the redline dealers list, but just emailing them or calling them will get you the most up to date info on the area your interested in.

Just get a few bottles of " dry gas " and dump them in the tank. This basicly mixed with the water and make it some what combustable. It's almost pure isproporal alcohol, not the kind you drink! He should be fine.
