Ok, I'm finally convinced my headgasket is gone.
Which of our sponsors sells these and ships internationally?

That's not good Aus. This is the 3rd head gasket I know of from ???overheating this year. I think coolant bleed should be the first thing in the s2k manual.
Air bubbles on the head often create hot spots that can cause detonation in FI application, which can creates extra heat. Just be careful and make sure you bleed all of the air bubble out before you WOT or make a automatic bleeder like what chris described.

I had the same intermitent heat problem, and mine was caused by some bone head cutting off the bolt mounts from the bottom of the fans. they smacked back and forth so much the blades on the A/C fan cut my core. I was talking to the honda dealer here for parts, and he told me it is actually common for people to forget to put the 8mm spacer back in when re-installing the fans, the blades tend to cut into the core after some time. the hole was so small and the fan blade acted like a cork most of the time cause i don't use A/C very often. just my situation, it's worth looking into.

Just a closing chapter to this thread. The head gasket was blown. We replaced it last weekend and all is good now.
A mildly blown head gasket that only leaks under boost is a very hard thing to diagnose.
