Water Leak in Driver/Passenger Footwell
I have been having issues with multiple water leaks in my car for the past few months. Just wanted to take a second a explain one of the discoveries I made to fix the water leak I was having in the passenger side footwell. However this also applies to the drive side footwell.
So first off, here is a picture of the carpet out of the passenger side, and where the water was dripping down into the footwell.
After some time spent trying to follow the path of water, I figured out that the door seal between the a pillar and the window was the cause of the problem. Here are a couple picture of the cause of the problem. The weather stripping toward the bottom of this seal was worn out.
I applied silicone sealant where you can see the old weather stripping used to be, leaving the water gunnel upen so water can drip down from the top of the car and leave the car down through the door well as originally designed. Or if you were so inclined you could just replace the whole seal with a new one.
Several people mentioned issues with the ac drain line leaking, or a seal to the engine bay leaking, but neither of these were an issue for me. Hope this helps someone as it drove me nuts for months.
