Default water cooled S2K

Is anyone running straight water instead of coolant in their S? Lots of my friends with Scoobaru's and such run straight water with Water Wetter and run almost 20 degrees cooler. Safe to run water and wetter in an S?

I do not know anything about water wetter or anything, but coolant has ethylene glycol (or other glycols/mixes of), which added with water, raise the boiling point and lower the freezing point of water (basic chemistry). water also acts as an oxidizer over time (rusting agent). Running 20 degrees cooler isnt necessarily better. higher temperatures aid in better combustion (increased rates of reaction). coolant allows your engine to run at a higher temperature, yet stable. also, heat in coolant is dissipated better than water. I quickly did a search about water wetter. it contains a polymer that will actually bond with rubber tubing and gaskets, gumming them up with goo. Apparently, you can add this to coolant. If you like your car running for a long time, i would skimp on the gimmicks.

I think its my first post, woot!
PS: Looking to buy an AP2 in the next year or so!

if you want to run cooler, just wire your engine and ac fan to run constantly.

this is not a good idea. This will cause the car to take much longer to get up to proper temps when it is first started.

or you could leave it stock, the hotter an engine can run while not running to hott makes for better fuel consumption and power it some instances. heat is a necessary evil

heat = power . I found that lower engine temps on several of my past cars resulted in lower power, even on turbocharged applications. The only time a cooler engine helps is if you have the ability to advance ignition timing or increased boost. When you have a factory computer controlling either you can lose power by lowering temps.

if you want a proper combination of coolant + water ( water dissipates heat better than ethylene glycol, noclue why you posted vice versa ) a mix of 80% water 20% coolant will freeze at 18F and boil at 235F at atmospheric pressure, making the boiling point of your coolant close to 250F with the cap on and pressurized.

50/50 has a lower freezing point, but also a lower boiling point.
