Warrenty work has just started
I have a 01 S2000 and it is time for more warranty work. 26,255 miles od
First off I am fairly hard on all of my cars, but I do complete the required maintenance. Saying that, I believe the cause of my failures on the S2000 are due to the following.
Hard driving..... I drop the clutch like a bad date. take it to 9150 rpm on a daily basis. As for corners.. side-ways is the only way to turn. I also like to have a donut at least once a week. Needless to say I am on my fourth set of tires... (3-sets of S02's great traction until break away point..and too expensive for me about 5000 miles and then smooth as silk... switched to S03's, last three times as long... enough grip for now)
Recall on 01 parts
Problems the first round of warranty:
A vibrating feeling accelerating hard in each gear 5k rpm and up.
grinding from first to second
paint pealing on plastic bumpers
Honda replaced the transmission and the down shaft from the transmission to diff
Sent me to body shop to get paint job.
Problems the second round of warranty:
still did not fix the vibrating feeling
and now there is a buzzing sound coming from the diff when acc or dec in gear
Honda now replaced the rear drive axle shafts
Problems the third round of warranty:
still have the buzzing sound
and the engine light come on. On the way home from the dealer
I reset the engine light, but two rides later it was back on
Round four coming up...
ON TO GOOD NEWS........
The car shifts like butter now... very impressed no grind and smooth engagement
I love the car and will not be so hard on her in the future...I would get another S2000 in a second..with a 100,000 mile warranty
I believe that the buzzing sound is the Differential. Is that where the 4:44 gears are upgraded or is it in the transmission?
