I am going to replace the starter. Battery and alternator were within normal limits underload. A buddy of mine said this is what happened to him months before his starter ate crap on him.
I've yet to NEED to replace the starter on a Honda.

Hah, my car is presenting the same problem, too. On a cold start, it will start up just fine. However, after stopping and restarting from short errands, it sounds like the starter is struggling. I know the starter is fine since I replaced it last year due to the "cold start grind" that seems to be a issue plagued among the original S2k starters. I'm having my battery tested today.
What leads me to believe the battery is the cause of the issue is because one; it's a cheap Duralast battery, and two, it's been in the car since 2009, which isn't long, but some batteries just go bad for no apparent reason.
