Walmart Supertech Oil Filters
Hi, does anyone have an opinion on using the Walmart Supertech oil filter on the S2000? I did a google search and its made by Champion, who makes the Mobile 1 filters, Bosch, STP, etc... It has a very good filter media and surface area. The only thing I'm wondering about is the bypass valve. Do you think it can handle the S2k's high oil pressures in VTEC, or do you think the bypass valve would just open up when we go into VTEC and not filter the oil? I can't find any information on what PSI the bypass valve can handle.

There is nothing more important on a high revving-high load, in VTEC, engine like yours than the oil pump/filter system. I would recommend not taking any unneccessary chances to save a buck in this department. There are some good ones out there, but you will not have to think about it, next time you're on it, with a Honda filter.

The Supertech filter is a very good buy and just about the best oil filter value out there. I use them in all my "beater" cars if you will, but I'll only use application specific OEM filters in the cars I race and push hard. For a savings of not even $4, the ST filter just doesn't have any advantages over the Honda PCX filter.

Does any one knows who makes the Honda filter? Must be made by one of the major manufacture.
