Remember that it's not only the engine that needs to be warm before VTEC. Your transmission gets warm only if the car is moving.

Ya'll do what ya want with your own cars ok... Im wait'n on the three bars to show b4 I ... It takes jst a few minutes after start up on the road to warm up... im not looking for a race tht soon anyhow... to each their own i suppose...

LOL, you guys were going off topic in the first few replies, so I stopped reading it.
Anyways, if you were to mash it when the car's not fully warmed up, the rev limiter kicks in around 6k RPM, when VTEC is suppose to engage. The rev limiter is placed there so you don't do damage to the engine when it's cold.

Different country's => different manuals.
My manual states "If the outside temp is below freezing OR if the car hasn't been driven for a couple of days THEN warm it up for a couple of minutes.
Then between () AGAINST THE LAW IN GERMANY!
I have a German manual because the car was imported into Holland.
So I guess when the conditions above aren't met you are allowed to start & drive.
Btw... I could not find any mention of the "moron rev limiter".
