Okay, so the other day I was getting on to the freeway and stood on it. when I got in to Vtec I heard a loud pop noise. It sounded to be the pins that lock the rockers together. I immediately let off. The motor seemed to be running okay so i down shifted and hit vtec and it was working like it should. So I just forgot about it. until today. It seems to not be hitting Vtec all the time and when it dose, it feels very weak on power.
I did the following:
tested solenoid, it is A Okay
removed solenoid to check filter, it is good
Whacked the MAP sensor, like I have read about
Oil level Is good
But it is still acting up, Is it possible their is damage to the locking mechanisms in the rockers??
I was thinking that maybe somehow not all the rockers are locking in to place??
I have a complete set of spare rockers, should I try swapping them? or would that be a waste of time??

The vtec pins would never make a loud poppingnoise.
Should be throwing a p0159 if you aren't getting into vtec. I have had plenty of issues with vtec pre AEM.
