VTEC hits harder in your civic/ prelude because the A/F ratio is tuned more in the S, crossover is much easier on the motor but hits just as hard.

I've noticed that vtec engagement's pretty subtle on my '2k. It's not the "force me in my seat" engagement of my civic.
That was directed that way. appologies MX, should have been more specific. I believe I saw Prelude as well in this discussion.
