Vtec and motor oil ?
hey guys i was talking to a old friend today , he was a owner of a 05 s2000 . and this guys car was i could "blessed''. it was soo fast for what it was . all he had was buddyclub headers , berk testpipe and k&n intake , and i saw him beat a new M3 in front of my eyes , i couldnt beleive it , he says he runs like 12.7 to about 13.4 in the quarter i see that really quick for the lil mods he had . but this is probaly the fastest s2k ive seen with the lil mods he had . i asked him a few question about the car cause i want the same setup he had and he says to not ever run sythetic oil . hes ran non synthetic the whole life of the car and that is y it runs so strong . he was explaining to me how vtec works best with non synthetic oils . what you guys think ? is this true ? also my s2k is currently running synthetic , can i go back to non synthetic with no issues ? my s2k is also a 2005 with 55k miles .

I don't think that alone is the reason. as is said, S2000s engines do have a flux in horsepower, some come out of the factory floor lacking a few ponies while i have heard of a few beasts coming out of the factory. also... wasn't vtec developed on synthetic?

You can switch between syn and regular oil, but there is little reason to go back.
No stock S runs 12.7 quarter mile.

^He never said it was stock, but even with those few bolt ons he'd be lucky to even come close to a mid 13
fastest/perfect shifter,
but he knows what hes doing i guess?

Beating a car doesn't really prove much honestly. I am consistently amazed at how bad a lot of drivers are, especially ones with expensive cars. As far as the drag times, I would honestly doubt them unless I saw it myself. Drag strips are like fishing as soon as you leave the fish seem to grow... But no I promise its not the oil.

Stock S2000 will never beat a new 500hp m3 off the line. This is just stupidity.
