Vtec Kick
Lately I haven't really felt the VTec kicking in after 6000RPM. I have almost 14,000 miles on my car and I don't feel it as much as I used to. Do u guys feel the same?

I had this "feeling" too a while ago. I have the Neuspeed exhaust and sometimes with the added rumble I can't sense the surge as much. Also, I think that as time goes by, I might be just getting used to it. So lately, I've been a little more analytical when I VTEC and screen out some of the other distracting factors and YEP, it's still there and unchanged. (I'm always on top of the oil level.)

My suspicion is that a lot of the so-called VTEC surge is felt in the ears rather than in the seat of the pants. The most recognizable factor to me as I cross that 6000 rpm point is a sudden increase in the quantity of engine noise. There is a somewhat more subtle up-kick in the torque, and a dyno curve posted on one of the threads here a while back seems to show that the torque jump is in the vicinity of 15 percent: significant but not overwhelming. As XViper suggested, any mods to the exhaust system would alter the most obvious cue to the changeover, or perhaps in time your ears may become accustomed to the raspy noises of the stock engine/exhaust winding up. It remains a pretty sound, but the novelty does wear off.

I was actually going to start a new thread when I came across this one. I drove my car today for the first time in a week and something is wrong with my engagement. I do not have a surge, but a loss in power at 5,900-6,000 RPM WOT. When under WOT I hit VTECH the acceleration (not speed) decreases a little and then by maybe 6,400 RPM it feels like it is pulling hard like it should. Does this make sense?
