No I have never messed with the ecu but tomorrow I will check everything to make sure. But one odd thing did occur to day i did some hard corning under vtec and all seemed like there was no problem.

MAP whack time?

Maybe the MAP needs to be cleaned?

I thought so too, but do you think it would happen throughout the powerband?

**Update**
Checked the screen on the vtec gasket and it was clean. The problem is still present. Tomorrow I will take off the valve cover and check the vtec lobes and see if there is any abnormal wear on them.

Try a map sensor off a car that works fine.

UPDATE: Exhaust valves were on the tight side even though that should not have caused the problem. Lobes look to be in good shape. the car will be in storage soon and hopefully sent out to be built for FI soon.

UPDATE:

I don’t know what I did to fix the problem, but it fixed itself. I did a valve check to make sure all of the valves were within spec and that’s all I did but at that time it didn’t fix it. So before I put the car up I wanted to shred some tires and I’m the mist of doing so I keep the rpms up around 8.5k shot flames and boom it was fixed. No more problems going in to vtec no loss of power or anything. But this still has me stumped because I shot a flame before all this happened and shot another one and all went away

i think i figures mine out as well. After we put it back to stock and it ran fine. I did a little more troubleshooting . The log manifold was such a piece of crap that vtec set at the standard 6k was to low and had to be raised to 6800 or so. Didn’t like that so took it off and a equal length ramhorn will be going on.

Wonder if that cleared something out?? Maybe to much carbon build up?
