Default VSA question

On the 06 and up cars, once you start the car, you can hit the button to turn the VSA off. You cannot turn it back on while driving, you must restart the car.

At least this is how some cars work. Is the case with the s2k?

You can turn it back on while driving.

To turn it off hold it down for about 2 seconds till the "!" light illuminates.

Merely tapping the VSA button (no need to hold down) whilst VSA is disengaged will extinguish the "!" light.

Weird Trivia: You can't disable VSA while it is operation i.e. if you have the tail hanging out and VSA is trying to bring the car back in line, you cannot disengage it till it is done. Don't ask me how I know

EDIT: whenever you turn the car on, VSA is engaged by default, despite previous settings. You must manually disable VSA everytime you start the car if you wish to operate the vehicle without the stability control present (please don't do this on public roads)

All the hondas with TCS and VSA can be toggled off and on after the car is running.

Both have to be turned off when resurfacing a brake rotor with an on car lathe.

How so?

I wasn't aware that the car even had to be turned on when using an on car lathe. I have yet to resurface the rotors on my S since its an 06, but if I remember correctly, when doing the rotors on my previous cars, we'd just put it up on the lift with the tranny in neutral, attach the lathe, and let it do its thing. Any reason as to why the car should be turned on in the first place?

lol, no, you dont have it. your engine is a cable throttle, the s2k's equiped with VSA are DBW(drive-by-wire). make sure your tires are in good condition.

On earlier models your brain is the VSA.
Also known as drive-by-nerve (DBN).

A trained human brain will outperform any VSA and it can be switched on and off at will.

You must be one of those special humans with 6 legs, where you can control the braking and throttle at each wheel individually

Sorry to say it, but VSA WILL outperform the human brain when it comes to driving in certain conditions. Of course there is no subsitute for astute judgment.
