VSA and ! light

VSA and ! light
When I turn the key without starting the motor, all the lights come on for a few seconds and go off, but only the steering wheel ! Light stays on. If I start the motor it goes away. After I drive a short distance, thr VSA and triangle ! Light come on and stay on until I turn the car off and restart it. Has anybody experienced this exact problem? Can I rent an obd reader from autozone to get a non-cel code, or do I have to go to Honda?

Depending on your state regulations (some states are more anal than others), you may be able to go to AutoZone (or similar) and have them read it for free. I'm in Texas and it's free and easy, but some states do not allow "free" reading of OBD codes.

Autozone in California makes you pay a deposit on the tool and you check the code yourself. But can these tools check vsa codes? Also, the lights come on when the car is running. Can I plug in the tool when its running?

Thanks for the diagram boofster, it looks like ABS uses the same sensor. I wonder if the brake light would come on too.
I just found that the light comes on a couple minutes after I start my car and let it idle. the wheels don't even need to be moving. Also, I took my car to Pep Boys and their basic scanner pulled misfire codes for cylinders 1 and 3. I'm going to do an early tune up and see if that fixes anything.

I'm really interested in the answer here also. Although this is for my 2004 Acura TL. Same circumstances. Mine happened after the transmission was replaced. Also, my SRS light comes on intermittently.
Apparently, you need a real high end scanner to pull codes for the stability control system. Can anybody but the dealer do this?

I had a the exact same lights come on; when I scanned the code i got a p2138 malfunction. p2138 indicate a faulty APP sensor which is the link between the gas medal and throttle body.

I resolved my issue today by adjusting the valves. The exhaust valves on cylinders 1 and 3 (the cylinders that were misfiring) were way too tight. They were 4-5 thousanths when they should have been 10 thousanths.
