05s2kmia, the VIN of your car has the model year embeded in it. So with a VIN of JHMAP21405T000001 is an 05 and a VIN of JHMAP21406T000001 is an 06.

So what number is in your VIN?

Also can you post a picture of your engine bay and dash cluster?
ok here is my vin # more or less JHMAP21355S000026

I changed the numbers after the S.

I can take pics for sure.

Ok, that prove it. It in an 05.

So you Don't have VSA. So if you say the " brake light, check engine and vsa lights " are on, can you shoot a picture of the Dash cluster and post it?

Also just to be sure the prior owner did not swap out the motors, clusters, ect.. Can you shoot a picture of the motor and post that too?

most of us can tell by sight if your motor/cluster is right for that year or not.

Ok here is the thing...I bought the car from an auction. It was missing some parts, It was a vandalized car...Maybe whats going on is that it was missing the cluster and they put a cluster from a newer year?..here are the pics

Looks like this is an AP2 04-05 motor. It is surely not a Drive By Wire (DBW) 06+.

Let me look up some information. Unless someone else can confirm the custer.

But I think you are right, they installed a newer cluster when thye put it back together. You may need to replace it with the proper year's cluster. This is solely based on the fact that VSA was not part of the 05.

As an FYI, the cluster in the S2000 has a computer in it. It hold the mileage of the car and calculates other functions. I.E Brake light is calculated from the swtich and a sensor on the master cylinder. Either can turn it on. So it could be that Honda changed the cluster on the inside to support VSA but did not change the connections on the back. Sot is technically fits in the car and works for the most part, all would be just fine too.

^yup.....but it seems fishy for a 05 model to have a 06 cluster.....also ~7000 miles for a 05?????

The miles are not actual, it might be because the cluster its not the original on the car

05s2kmia

First thing is to get that cluster swapped out with the right cluster. I may know where one is, PM me if you are interested.

VSA= 06+
pretty sure the cluster is from a 06/07 since it has the VSA light and the gas/temp gauge with the outside temp and time.
Idk whats wrong?
