Default VSA kicking in early after new rear tires

I just replaced my rear Bridgestone RE-11's with a new pair and now the VSA is kicking in way too early during cornering, making the car almost dangerous to drive moderately quickly in the canyons with the VSA on. Does this have to do with the new tires having more tread and thus being taller? I reset the ECU but this did not solve the problem... The VSA seems to be braking the outside front wheel as if there is oversteer when the car is at maybe 6 or 7 tenths of the limit. Help?

This has everything to do with the new tires. The rubber compound is still stiff since its new. I'm sure VSA will kick in less once the tires are broken in.

But when I turn off VSA the car handles as before the new tires with no signs of oversteer? I hope you're right though.
