Vortech SC says 92 octane or higher but......
In the instructions for the vortech supercharger they say to use 92 octane gas or higher, all I have where I live is 91 octane. Do you guys think this will make a difference? Can I use 91 instead of 92 and still be safe? please advise

i read that the vortech kit will be CARB certified. if they're paying that much attention to detail, i wonder how they missed the fact that CA residents can't purchase 92 octane gas anymore.

2.) A bunch of refinery fires (Tosco in Bay Area to be exact), MTBE contamination (in Lake Tahoe) and all of the damn litigation forced more cutbacks.

I also forgot to add...
Comptech people are using 91 all the time with no problems... well with the gas anyway. : )
Since Vortech has a little more pressure, it has the timing retard kit (never seen it... just heard) which will do the trick.

Tosco holds the patent for premium gas in CA. When Tosco changes it's formula slightly to meet current CARB mandates (read emissions, etc.) the rest of the state had to follow. There's more to it, of course, but that's the meat and potatoes of it.

Question for all you Vortech people. What is Vortechs position on warranty issues with their product and on your cars?
Comptech in the past on this forum (Mike B), has come out and clearly stated that Comptech fully warranties their product, and any damage that is caused by their product that Honda will not cover under the Honda warranty, Comptech said they will cover.
Just curious as to what Vortech is offering.
