Actually I beleive it was vortech that told me to go to .030 not everyone. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes the kit is great and I see no reason to hold off buying it.

The only problem is to make sure that you get the right timing box and that your plugs are gapped low enough to not get blown out by the S/C.

I am about to install my vortech kit and had a few questions for those that already installed theirs.

1. Do you have to have these items to install the kit, 07JAB-001020A and 0JAF-001020A damper tools from Honda listed in the instructions? What are these tools used for?

2. I bought honda bond and loctite clear silicone sealant. Don't they do the same thing? Why do you need both?

Here is a dyno that should clear it up for you.

the last graph is boost and at what RPM's it is occuring

Am I looking at something wrong or are these figures shown lower than the dynos for Comptech by 5-10HP? Why a cooler if no more HP? Seems like more to have problems with to me. Not meaning to be critical, just wondering.

1. I believe that's the pulley removal tool. That's the hard part of the install. I've heard it takes three men and a junk yard dog to get that thing off.

2. I haven't a clue.

My kit did not perform very well during that dyno due to improperly gapped spark plugs. But everyone wanted something so I through it up there. I will be getting a new dyno tommorow pre tuning and post tunning.

Notice in that graph at 8300 RPMS the spark plugs just give up as they are getting blown out by the S/C.

I have not seen any dynos of comptech otherwise stock dynos hitting 282 at 8300. Granted many of the dynos are missing due to photopoint being gone. I think we are estimating 300+ at 9000 at the wheels without tuning.

I did see one hit 281 at 8800 RPM's and anouther hit 291 at 9000 but at 8000 he only had 260

Stay tuned.

Garj

How much HP did you get with your comptech prior to putting on any other mods.
