Mine is newly installed but I'll check after work. I have been looking for things like this as any newly installed SC owner should and didn't notice anything there....yet. I did notice that the intake tube coming from the airbox is rubbing a little with a metal piece that is there. It seems that people have different rubbing issues as the kits fit so tight that little things are bound to happen.

I had the issue as well. I thought it was due to my incompetent mechanic but bill fixed it by turning it 90 degree. thanks to billman250.

I will be checking mine as well. My 2001 has one of the first Vortech SC kits with the cooler. Does anyone know what the average boost is on the S/C? The person that I purchased the car from mentioned 5-6psi, but I have read 7-8 other places? I know Aaron has the same kit and he is here in South FL.

I think 5-6 is for an original Comptech with an intercooler that came later. The 7-8 is for the Vortech since it was designed with the I/C from the beginning. Mine reads 7 at redline.

Mine was defenitely touching, but I just bent the AC line down a bit and now i have plenty of clearance.

i dont think I would turn the BOV upsdie down as the vented boost would ruin my just recently polished intercooler...

How would pressurized filtered air do this?
I am sure as the filter's capability to filter degrades, it will let not so pure air come out and ruin my polish job

You should appreciate the opportunity to polish stuff on your car. It's soothing.
BTW, that air should be fairly clean already, having come through the first "air cleaner". Besides, I'm almost certain that the BOV filter was put on there to appease some environmentalist bookworm bean-counter working for C.A.R.B.

true, it looks like a waste of BOV filter.

But I can think of one time where the BOV will spit out reddish stuff.

When you oil the K&N filter, the air intake filter that is, sometimes oil will seep through if you put too much. And if you are boosting at 7psi and close the throttle, then bam, there goes my polished intercooler again
