On my last road trip, I checked my engine bay for anything odd. I usually do this as part of my oil check routine on a long trip. I noticed that the BOV filter was actually putting an indent into the AC metal line. Thank goodness I found it before it wore a hole right through it. I removed the filter till I got home.
Here are some pics to show what it looks like and what I did:
First one is of the worn away part of the metal line through the foam insulation:

Next two show what I did to resolve the issue. Vortech shows to install the BOV with the filter pointing down. I removed the BOV and turned it upside down and re-installed the filter:


I have filled in the indent and worn away foam insulation with a big glob of clear silicone seal. Black would have been nice but I didn't have any.

I highly recommend you go check this aspect of your installation and attend to it as necessary. I also recommend that all those who are about to install a new Vortech put the BOV as shown in my last two pictures.

I have about 10mm clearance on mine. My aftercooler is pretty upright with the AN fittings though.

It's odd that they don't all sit the same. My cooler is angled down to toward the blower, thus making the filter touch the AC line.

The silicone connection sleeves allow a very little amount of play. My aftercooler is pushed as far back towards the throttle body so the different fittings I used don't hit the radiator.

The angle on mine doesn't look much different than yours and my filter was pushed as far as possible onto the BOV mounting base.

yeah that's where I learned about a year ago. I found that if you turn the filter 90 degrees it does the trick.
