VooDoo Knob and Locktite help
I just got my VooDoo Engraved Titanium knob today (thanks Rick).
I bought blue Locktite ,used it, and 6 hours later after not touching knob I went to try it and it was as loose as the second I put it on. What gives?
the Locktite directions say 1 drop.... I may have put 2 or 3. Is this why its still loose?
Do you apply the Locktite at the very top of the threads or near the bottom?
And how big of a drop... it was a big drop that came out of bottle
I would hate to have to use a lock nut, and make the knob sit up higher
Any Suggestions??
Thanks in advance

I put Loctite (more than just a few drops) and let it sit overnight for at least 24 hours.
The weather might also have an effect - I did it when it was scorching hot outside and it didn't work as well - so I reapplied and let it sit and all was well afterwards.

ok I tried just 1 drop at top of threads. It sat for 7 hours overnight at about 50 deg. I touched knob this morning and it was still completely loose.
I also tried to put lock nut on, but i can't. With locknut there, Voodoo wont even grab threads
If I would have know this, I would have just bought a NON engraved and saved the money...
Can anyone help PLEASE?????????

Funny, I've got the standard pearl finished one. The instructions said don't worry about really cranking it tight................so I did. No problems at all with loosening.

You should be able to just keep turning the knob down until its tight w/out using any loctite.
Infact, if you use loctite, good luck ever getting it off... at least you used blue..

Can't you guys read . He said it was engraved, hence, the need for the loctite. You will now need to clean off all the previous loctite from the threads of the shifter and the knob. Shake the bottle well, then apply plenty and let it sit overnight. Should be fine.

I don't think 1, 2 or even 3 drops is enough.
Try what I did: take an old paintbrush, spread a generous amount of loctite on the tip of the brush, and then "paint" the threads on the shift lever thoroughly, top to bottom. Screw the knob on, align it, and let it sit overnight. That should do it. Mine hasn't budged.
