I have a similar noise as well. I did some listening around the drivers footwell, and it is most definitely the loudest there. Blip the throttle to 2000rpm, the noise goes away for a few seconds until the idle is normalized.

Could be the cold weather too... I'm considering to switch to a lighter cold weight oil as suggested. I'm in the same boat where the dealer did the oil change before I bought the car so I'm not sure whats in there.

Pretty ancient thread but any update on what may have caused the ticking? Having the same problem and have replaced tct and adjusted valves.
