I also have the same noise in my 05 AP2, The oil was changed by the dealer at purchase(3k mi ago) but I'm not too far off for the next change. Ill Try that first. If it doesn't work Ill move on to Valve adjustments.

Ok, visited dealer. Decided not to do the 30k service but just an oil/filter change. Used Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic 10w30 (couldn't find Castrol Edge on short notice but will use that next time). The clicking at warm idle is still there. Mentioned it to the dealer and they didn't seem too concerned.

I guess my injectors have just decided to get uppity and be really noisy all of a sudden. Services dept. advised me against using injector cleaner in the s2k.

I'd recommend Redline fuel system cleaner for the injectors, if they are fouled up at all, Redline is enough to get them cleaned up in one treatment and it works as advertised.

I like to run an upper cylinder lubricant such as Lucas, though there are other products out there, it helps to lubricate the injectors among other benefits.

I had the same exact noise, it turned out to be the tensor pully "bearing"

i have the same noise too. should i need to worry about the bearing of my tensor pulley? easy fix? cost? thanks for help in advance.

nvm, dont think its my bearing. It could be my gas.

Pg. 108 in the owners manual states that "Use of a lower octane gas can cause occasianal metallic knocking noises in the engine."

Thats what I think i'm hearing. Im going to try a different pump station(I wish we have 93 octane) and maybe change my oil its at 40% life over 6months old at 3kmiles =/

i have a similar sound, i replaced the tct and still made the noise, i changed the oil and it is still there. just like how the op describes it!! but much louder. i recently replaced my valves and a retainer and a new head gasket. could it be caused by that? i also left my car in the garage for about 3-4 weeks. i took it to honda and the want to charge me 160 dollars to open up the engine to find whats making the ticking sound. any help?

i have the same exact noise like yrs
but from my view, i would go for the simpliest and cheapest way first, try the Redline injector cleaner , oil change to redline 5W40 ( some members have huge success in getting rid of those ticking noise ), if the noise still here, try valve adjustment and TCT

You could take the belt off and run the car to see if the bearing is bad in the tensoner

Similar noise here as well. Valves have been adjusted before, and I'll probably go over them again sometime soon. Engine runs smooth and strong, and goes all day at the track without a hiccup.

If everything is fine and these engines tend to make a noise that others do not, I'm fine with that. Just as long as a rocker arm isn't about to blow up or anything.

Yeah my engine makes the same noise pretty much. Maybe I'll try the injector cleaner stuff and see if that quiets anything down. Also might try switching to some 5w40 synthetic oil.
It sounds like the ticking on my car is coming from the injectors but always super hard to pinpoint engine noises.
