Had Billman swap out my diff about 6 weeks ago, some of you might remember the horror show I went through before Billman saved me. During the swap I asked Billman to swap the CV buckets as a preventative measure. With 105K on the car I figured I’d swap them out now.

After getting the car back and driving it for 6 weeks now, I feel a slight miss from when I hit the pedal to when the axles seem to grab. It’s not major and feels pretty soft, nothing that clicks, snaps or bangs. It’s almost as if the power comes down the prop shaft, hits the diff and when the diff spins the axles they are delayed for a second, if that. But I can feel the little hit in the seat. I’m 100% positive it’s coming from the rear.

The used diff I got had 99K on it and it’s a bit whiny but I’m told that’s because I used the Innovative 75a mounts. That makes sense and the car is a bit noisier back there. I’m using the AMSOIL 75w90 Severe Gear oil and if the used diff was bad id know by now. The problem I’m feeling hasn’t gotten worse, nor has the noisy diff..has stayed the same since the repair was done.

Is this something I need to worry about? I don’t feel it miss all the time and I’m taking it really easy on the car. A good example is if I’m cruising in 6th on the highway, let off the gas and then hit the pedal, I feel the soft, delayed hit back there. I didn't feel this with the original diff and CV buckets so im a tad bit concerned..
