Default Very low idle/ backfire/ shuts off

This started to happen around thankgiving last year when i went out of town and my car started to backfire in san antonio on cruise control! as i got closer into town to where i was going i felt the car jerking and mis fire kinda thing and was worried i put bad gas because i had this happen to me before. it got to the point where i would come to a stop and push the clutch in and the car would shut off on its own and i know for damn sure i didn't stall. and this was happening alot so i would have to rev to keep it from shutting off when i had to stop. i ran out the gas filled up drove around to get the old gas out but was still doing it. when i got on it hard it didnt do it as much just more at cruising speed and stopping. so i took it to autozone and had it checked and nothing came up went to the dealer had the diagnostic check and everything was fine but had to pay $100. they said the battery terminal was loose. it stopped and a few months later its going on me again and it shut off on me at lunch but i checked the battery terminal and its fine and tight. i maintain my car to the best i can with changes and hardly if ever race on it. I got a apexi catback, test pipe i bought on ebay, cai. Any Suggestions????? anyone had this problem?????

i took out the spark plugs and cleaned them up a bit and put them back in and there fairly new should i add, usually it does this when the engine is cold and when i go into second when i hear that backfire. and when im at a stop light or doing the "roll" when you are at a hill and roll down and pull back up it tends to be like im a beginning driver with the car and jerk and so its like it wants to shut off but i have to step the cluth in and kinda "reset" it could i have dirty injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter????

could be injectors. alot of people have the jerking problem with in 1st gear at slow speeds thats just (not saying this applys to you) because they are newbs at manual trans.

This still could be just about anything related to spark and fuel delivery. Is the check engine light working properly? ...like when you key-ON, does it illuminate then shut off on its own? If you had a check engine light, your problem would be somewhat easier to find. I'm guessing that the check engine light works no problem, but it's not producing a code.

I "whacked" the map sensor, resested the ecu and yesterday in traffic coming home from school it died on me on stop and go traffic only once, it wants to die on me but i catch it before it does and it idles down to the very first line which i find it wierd and annoying cause i have to put clutch, gas, clutch, you get the idea
