Default very hot air box

i was taking pictures of my snorkel for a s2ki member who is curious about it and as i was taking off the air box lid, i felt it was very hot (not burning hot but very very warm).

i was wondering if there was a way to keep the air box cool, so it would keep the air inside cool?

also i was wondering if it would be worth it?

The car does have heat bogg problems regardless of what you do. Of course cooler intake temps will help. Getting them is the hard part. A snorkel will help, but not in stop and go trafic as there is no air beeing pushed into the snorkel. A vented hood helps getting air out. A heat shield keeping heat away from the airbox also helps. If you remove the intake lid it will get much worse in stopped traffic.
After market intakes will get heat soak as well in stop and go traffic. Not much you can really do to avoid it. As soon as you get going it will go away however.

Several owners have installed a Hondata Gasket, and have reported improved intake temps. IIRC, the Hondata gasket insulates better than the stock gasket, allowing less heat transfer to the intake manifold. You can do a search and find out more about it.
