I would not

-Run it how it is now
-Do anything to....lessen the tread or wear the tire prematurely
-fill one side with more air

I would

-Replace the worn tire, so you have 2 tires of the same age/treadwear/inflation on that axle.

Read up on how our differential's work and you may think the same

Replace the rear tires. You are not driving a Civic (no offense to civic drivers) this is a high quality sports car and needs to be treated as one. If you drive it like it is you could damage the diff, or yourself if you lift around the corner and the chassis gets upset by the rearend moving around. Trust me it is worth it to do it right the first time.

I agree.

1. Replace both rears at the same time, always.
2. Replace both fronts at the same time, always.
3. Never run differant air pressure, side to side. 1/2 is enough to cause the car to pull.

why wouldn't he just get the new tire shaved to the same depth as the old one? Seems dumb to me to buy a new tire when you can shave it to match left and right for like $20 at the most.

The age of the tire and contact patch will be differant on the axle. If a 1/2 lbs of air differance makes the car pull, what do you think would happen if one tire was stickier then the other?

That is why. Matched Tires matter. I will not even run differant fronts and rears (brands/models)
