haha, if his valves bent from stay open due to a completely cracked cam he'd noticed and would have changed it. I didnt even read anything but the last page and got that.

No worries.. that was actually discussed in a separate thread, IIRC. However, I'm pretty sure the engine itself is still in good shape. I've done a compression test and everything checks out. The car got fresh oil & a clean oil filter after the chipped/shaved camshafts were discovered, in an attempt to make sure there weren't any shavings still floating around inside the engine.

Anyway... I stuck the stock camshafts back in tonight and plan to hit the dyno soon, just to see which way my numbers go with the stock cams. If the numbers go up, then I'll know for certain that the camshafts are the problem... if the numbers go down, then I'll know there is something much more sinister at work.

My Toda experience in the early part of this year.
I have the "later Toda cams" ie (not the blackened ones) the install went all ok and installed them with the Toda valve springs, Alaniz retainers, FPR, Erick

Yaya ... that is what everyone says when they spend so much on cams.... dyno the car and check if you feelings concur with your number..... but even before that do you have a base dyno of what the numbers were before the cam install????

Almost everyone that has installed their cams are pretty familiar around cars.... we are not punk ass kids that have alot of our parents money but rather people that do this because we like it.....

No offense, but I've un-installed and re-installed these cams 3 times. Each time I thought: "Hey, it feels like it's making more power... especially in the midrange." Each time I took it to the dyno, I found that my power had not increased (and is less than I was making before swapping in these cams).

Until you show me a before & after dyno, I'll have to take your claims w/ a grain of salt. And even if you are making power... that still doesn't help me determine why my cams are not making power.

I installed some TODA stickers and I felt it gave me signficant off the line power......

As you had mentioned, I would seriously swap the stock cams back in ...... have you dropped you oild pan to check if the metal shaving ended up there?

I'm on the same wavelength.... the stock cams went back in last night, and I hope to hit the dyno again this weekend.

As for the oil pan... I have no intention of dropping it any time soon. It might be a worthy safety measure, but I'm too lazy and hoping that if there are any shavings remaining, they'll get picked up by the filter.
