Ok,
After endless nites of research and searching on the site, I found this link that gernby had posted
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=82493
I am pretty sure that Tony (shop guy) measured between the rocker arm and the cam lobe.
Should he be measuring between the valve spring retainer and the adjuster screw instead.
Interesting enough, the instruction says tappet clearance.....
Let me know... I would appreciate definite answers and not opinions......
Thanks, its been a long week

Did you ever find out what clearance specifications Toda suggests?

My thinking exactly.......I'm really not sure...only because the instructions say tappet clearence. isn't that betwen the rocker arm and lobe??????
edit:
yes, I think it was 0.26 (E) and 0.23 (I), apparently this was included in the initial instructions but was missed by Tony.....

OEM specs are .010-.011" exhaust, and .008-.010" intake. If adjusted to OEM specs, there will be about .006 (exhaust) and .005" (intake) between the cam lobe and roller rocker. I think the "tappet" is the adjuster screw.

Yeah the different series motors have to be read differently (adj in different position)when it comes to the adjustments on the cams some many problems but I hope it all worth it I have no choice I already purchased mine and I have had them for about a month now just waiting for the install but I think what Beroz was talking about does ring a bell why the loss top end would acquire~nate

If your clearances were adjusted as you suspect, then your clearances would be too large. This will have more of an impact pre-VTEC than it would post-VTEC.
