Verdict: It's the Driveshaft...
For those who've been following the recent episode, it has turned out to be the driveshaft. Well, at least I can say, my driveshaft is messed up. After giving a strong 1-2 shift the car began making a loud fast knocking sound. I could only tell it was coming from under the car. I slowed down, made a u-turn, the noise continued the whole time. It slowed as I slowed, got faster as I got faster. I took it straight to the dealership (one block away) and we put the car on the lift. While on the lift they "drove" the car in first gear as we stood underneath listening. The noise is coming from this part of the car (picture stolen from another thread):
We'll see what they say when they really get a chance to look at it on Monday (they were closing as I arrived).

OK, I guess I jumped the gun. The real mechanic listened to it today and he thinks it's the differential. It didn't sound like it to me, but he's going to take the diff apart and have a look. Too bad I don't have the money sitting around for a final gear...could save on installation.

What a grand for a gear set? Sheesh! Just put small tires on the rear!!!(less rolling distance) That will get you your increased gearing. Plus you don't have to worry about thrashing $1K in gears if you blow something up again.
Oh and for all those wondering what happened to me a while back. I had my diff replaced after 62K+ miles. No FI and no dragging my car. Just a lot of miles mostly highway!!! Guess it just was its time.
Scares me to think and shutter at those car that most mostly track miles.(and only 12K on the ODO) And those people who buy them and are like LOW MILES!!!!

The car is at JEH. I'll be driving the trusty Insight (yet to break). I'm most likely going to send off the differential housing to be cryogenically frozen while it's all apart. Been a long time coming to get that done.

Hey Wes,
This has nothing to do with your S being S/C, does it? I was thinking about S/C, but if it's gonna cause me this much problems, I may consider not to do it.
Thanks,
