Vented hood
Anyone know what kind of drops in temperatures you can expect with a vented hood? I drove around a little yesterday, ambient around 90 in mild traffic, and coolant was slightly above 200. I'm just trying to decide if I need to buy a bigger radiator, or if a vented hood will suffice.

A vented hood will drop the under the hood temp slightly...since more hot aire is able to escape through the vent, but it does most of heat venting at speed. I'd say if you want a significant drop in temp, radiator would do a better job.

I cut a hole in the top of my hood (right above my Fujitsubo Header) and put in some screening. It's not the most elegant solution, but it's functional. And the heat POURS out of the hole in traffic. If you've ever sat in an Evo at a stoplight you know what I'm talking about.
But coolant temps around 200 in mild traffic are normal....I haven't seen a drop in coolant temps--but I know that my supercharger isn't sucking in a bunch of header heat.
