allow you to select the rear end ratio, or just a stock correction factor (4-5% taller?).
I am regaining hope seeing this post. I believe 7% would be proper for the 4.4 J's, but 5% certainly would be close.

4373,
What I meant by a stock correction factor is that the stock speedo reads 2-3 mph fast at 60 mph. That would equate to a 3-5% error. Thus, even a stock car could benefit from a circuit such as this.
For a different rear gear, the correction would be even higher. For example, on the 4.4 J's, we're increasing the rear gear by right around 7%. So we had to first make the speedo read, say, 4% lower (an average of 3-5) to correct the stock error. Now, at redline in 2nd gear, instead of reaching 65 mph, we'll only reach 60.5 mph. So we need to reduce the pulse count by another 7% for a total of 12%.

Thanks for the post UL
I'm sure we all appreciate your efforts and expertise on the subject and your willingness to do some R&D as well. It's also great news that the stock error will be corrected! That's a big issues, especially when switching to a final gear like the 4.4. Those of us with remaining warranties will be able to get the full value (or whatever is left to go) as we are supposed to in the first place. Good luck with everything!
Oh, I mailed Randy to ask if he has any tips about getting the final drive gear installed, or doing it yourself...something I'm seriously considering. He's a busy guy, but hopefully I'll get a mail back from him soon with some more specifics.

Hmm..
If you can readjust the speed sensor to match the new higher ratio, wouldn't people do the opposite then?? Adjusting the speed sensor so that it reports lower mileage than what the car is actually running.
Now THAT will be bad...

Back to the top, it's getting closer to final gear buyin' time......hoping someone can fabricate a solution. I hate it when you can't just click and pay.
