I have seen cars without them go for a long time and others not. One of the keys is to make sure your oil level never drops below the L mark. I'm guessing that's what drives most of the oil bolt failures, the engine seems to be less resilient to oil level without them.

The reason to replace them is not to run 120+mph. The reason to replace them is that the old ones were an inferior part. Even if you keep the oil level up, I would say that if you plan to drive the car for more than daily driver duties I would install them. They are $50 and you can change them out in minutes when you drop your pan to plumb in a oil return line since you want to go FI.

Yup, if you're having them installed. Otherwise you will need hondabond too.

honda bond is for ? resealing the pan? or what is good ol hondabond lol I know i am super rookie.

Yep- sealing the pan. It's basically RTV, but Honda's stuff beats the hell out of anything you can buy at normal retail shops.

is that what they call it is HOnda bond? I think i will buy some of that too and have my performance shop install this stuff for me

any dealership will have it. i think i paid $14 for my last tube.
