valve retainers
Hey guys, having my ap1 intake retainers swapped out, why should I go OEM ap2 as opposed to aftermarket? Does it really matter? Andy's has skunk 2 replacements for like 40$

But hardtop guy has OEM ap2 in a 200$ kit... what's the difference? Why is hardtop guy so much more expensive?
Looking at that link, I'm wondering if the retainers and keepers are even included

I can't comment on pricing as I am not in the US, but the skunk titanium retainers will have a shorter service life than oem ap2 retainers. In all applications you need to buy the keepers as separate parts unless Hardtop guy sells them as a kit, you only need to upgrade the intake side retainers.

OEM parts are always more in any application. As the previous poster noted the Ti retainers have a more limited lifespan (well documented here). I just picked up mine from Majestic Honda for about 20 bucks less.Go to the FAQ at the top of this Forum. Go to Engine stuff 3rd post from the bottom.

i paid $50 for the OEM AP2 intake retainers and keepers. The HTGuy site quotes for both intake and exhaust. You really only need to replace the intake ones. Now, you may need to replace the valve gasket as well and his kit includes that.
you need 8x 14765-prb-a01 and 16x 14781-pcx-004 for the intake parts.
no one builds better than OEM honda in my opinion.
