Valve cover paint flaking
The other day I noticed my factory red valve cover paint is peeling, specifically where the oil stick is. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions? Do I have to sand and repaint the thing?

Powder coating is probably the best thing to do. If you don't want to powder coat it you can paint it with some hi temp paint. You need 5 things to paint it,
1. 1 can of gasket remover in a can (Spray)
2. 1 can of degreaser
3. Primer
4. Paint
5. Skill.
It is pretty easy, first remove you valve cover, second remove all gaskets and washers and plastic parts form the valve cover. This is important because the gasket remover will eat plastic, rubber, and paint. Now read the can of gasket remover, and under stand the directions and warnings. Spray the valve cover and let it sit until all the paint bubbles up and starts to fall off. Give it a rinse, there might be a few spots with paint still on it, if so, spray it again with the gasket remover or sand it off. Now use your degreaser to clean the surface of the valve cover. Once the cover is clean, shoot a good coat or two of primer. Once primed, shoot a few coats of paint, once it is dry reinstall all the bits and pieces and put it back on your car. I have done his in the past, I use a spray gun and use hi-temp engine block paint I purchase at the local auto paint supplier. I am sure you can use the rattle can stuff and get a good result.
